Hi, I’m Florian.
I came up with Triplato and develop the app myself, alongside my day job, in Winterbach in the Rems Valley, Germany.
Before you trust an app with your recipes and your family’s everyday life, you want to know who built it. I think that’s fair. That’s why this page exists.
In my day job I’m a software consultant at a software company. We develop point-of-sale software and the systems around it. I work in the engineering team on the operating system, drivers and device integration – software that has to run reliably every single day. Triplato is my own project, independent of my employer.
I’m married and we have two children. A family of four eats a lot, and someone has to plan what.
Why Triplato exists
For years we used a recipe app. Still, every week went the same way: first work out what to cook, which takes time. Then go through every recipe and type each ingredient into a shopping list app, one by one. At least I had sorted that one to match my supermarket. It was still a hassle.
At some point we switched to a recipe manager with a built-in shopping list. Everything in one place, or so we hoped. But the planning was still up to us, every recipe had to be added to the list separately, and then “1 cucumber” showed up twice, one below the other. Plus salt and pepper, which are in the cupboard anyway.
So I started automating. With the Shortcuts app on the iPhone I built two workflows: one plans the week according to our rules, the other turns it into a shopping list. Later I added AI, and the plans got much better. But Shortcuts only takes you so far.
Triplato is what I needed back then: one app for your recipes, your weekly meal plan and your shopping list. It plans according to your rules, combines identical ingredients and leaves out what you already have at home.
How Triplato is built
- No subscriptionPay €20 once for the whole family. You pay for the AI directly to your AI provider, usually a few cents per weekly plan.
- No adsThe app contains no ads and no tracking.
- No server of my ownYour data is stored in your iCloud. I can’t see it.
- Allergies stay with youThe app doesn’t send allergies or calendar events to the AI. It filters them out before anything is sent.
- Security updatesThe support period runs until 31 December 2031.
Where Triplato stands
The app is currently in a private test at our home. It is planned to launch first in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, expected at the end of 2026. Other countries are to follow. To stay up to date, visit triplato.app.
